Views of the economy lean pessimistic for the next year
Core finding
In a Verasight survey of 1,000 U.S. adults conducted April 9 to 15, 2025, 46% of Americans said they felt very or somewhat pessimistic about the U.S. economy in the next year.
About a third felt somewhat or very optimistic (35%), while 19% said they were neither optimistic nor pessimistic.
