Americans guess about half the country shares their core beliefs
Core finding
In a Verasight survey of 1,000 U.S. adults conducted Dec. 3-8, 2025, a quarter of Americans (25%) estimate that 41% to 60% of people share their beliefs about what it means for a statement to be true.
Nearly as many (23%) put the share higher, between 61% and 80%, while 12% guess 21% to 40%, 9% say 81% to 100%, and 4% think it is 20% or lower. The remainder do not venture a number: 17% understand the question but are not sure, and 11% say they do not understand it.
