Most airplane passengers stand only when their row is called

Most Americans (61%) say they stand up on a plane only when it is time for their row to leave, according to an August 2025 Verasight survey.
Fewer break ranks in either direction: 14% stand right when the seatbelt sign goes off, and 7% wait until everyone else gets off the plane. Another 18% do not fly at all.
