Potatoes are Americans' favorite vegetable

Potatoes stand alone as America's favorite vegetable: 41% of U.S. adults rank them first, according to a Verasight survey conducted Aug. 20-25, 2025. Tomatoes, the runner-up, draw fewer than half as many at 18%.
Carrots (14%) and spinach (11%) form the next tier, with onions just behind at 10%. Eggplants (3%) and kale (2%) trail well back.
